With all the Custom Shop releases, you’d almost forget that the Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster is still part of Fender’s core lineup. But make no mistake—this model holds its own. It features all the essential appointments to give you that unmistakable Clapton tone, whether you’re chasing the smooth sustain of Wonderful Tonight or the fiery edge of Layla. It’s a no-nonsense workhorse designed to deliver the full range of Eric’s iconic sound.
Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster Olympic White 2011
Het begint met de alder body, gecombineerd met een esdoorn hals met het kenmerkende zachte V-profiel. Net als andere Fender EC Stratocasters is de basis direct geïnspireerd op ‘Blackie’—de legendarische gitaar van Eric—met een maple hals, single-ply slagplaat en vintage-stijl tremolo.
Maar Eric wilde meer dan een kopie van Blackie. Om de gitaar echt eigen te maken, voegde hij een Active Mid Boost circuit en een TBX toonregeling toe, waarmee het klankspectrum ver wordt uitgebreid ten opzichte van een standaard Strat. Dankzij deze upgrades schakel je moeiteloos van de zachte tonen van Wonderful Tonight naar de punch van White Room.
Dit exemplaar is licht bespeeld. De originele witte slagplaat is op fraaie wijze verkleurd naar een cream tint (ironisch genoeg), en er zijn enkele lichte gebruikssporen en een kleine beschadiging aan de bovenkant van de body. Toch verkeert de gitaar in uitstekende staat en speelt hij als een droom.

But Eric wasn’t just after a clone of Blackie. To make it truly his own, he added an Active Mid Boost circuit and a TBX tone control, expanding the tonal range far beyond a standard Strat. With these upgrades, switching from the smooth tones of Wonderful Tonight to the punch of White Room is just a turn of a knob away.
This example has seen some light use. The original white pickguard has aged to a cream color (ironically), and there are a few light play marks and a small ding on the top of the body. Still, it remains in excellent condition and plays like a dream.

Dieses Exemplar hat einige leichte Gebrauchsspuren. Das originale weiße Schlagbrett ist (ironischerweise) cremefarben gealtert, und es gibt ein paar leichte Spielspuren und eine kleine Delle auf der Oberseite des Korpus. Dennoch ist sie in ausgezeichnetem Zustand und spielt sich wie ein Traum.
