The PRS Tonare Grand is impressive in both sound and looks, featuring a spectacular Cocobolo back and sides combined with an Adirondack spruce top. It also boasts almost every conceivable upgrade, such as abalone trim and a built-in pickup.

De Tonare Grand is tot in de kleinste details zeer verfijnd en stijlvol gebouwd. Zo heeft hij een abalone/cocobolo rozet, cocobolo/esdoorn/abalone randinleg en uiteraard de bekende 'birds' inleg op de ebbenhouten toets.De stevige C-vormige mahonie hals is zeer comfortabel en de met de hand gemaakte Keith Robson stemmechanieken houden het instrument perfect op stemming.
De gitaar klinkt geweldig groots met een haast Europees karakter, denk aan Lowden of McIlroy, maar dan met meer definitie en een warmer en ronder hoog zoals bijvoorbeeld gitaren van James Olson of Kevin Ryan. Zeer veelzijdig en geschikt voor alles van fingerpicking tot drop tunings tot strumming mede dankzij de diepe body.
Deze PRS Tonare uit 2011 heeft duidelijke speelsporen en dings op het bovenblad, met daarbij ook speelsporen op de klankkast en de hals. Verder is er op de zijkant van de body in de taille aan de baszijde een kleine crack gerepareerd, en ontbreekt op de knop van het stemmechaniek van de D-snaar een decoratief dopje. Het originele PRS piezo-element is vervangen door een LR Baggs Anthem, en de gitaar is tenslotte voorzien van een niet-originele palissander slagplaat.
De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer van Ameritage. Deze koffer is helaas niet geheel ongeschonden, want het handvat is defect.
The Tonare Grand is meticulously crafted and stylishly crafted, down to the smallest detail. It features an abalone/cocobolo rosette, cocobolo/maple/abalone trim, and, of course, the signature "birds" inlay on the ebony fingerboard. The sturdy C-shaped mahogany neck is very comfortable, and the handmade Keith Robson tuners keep the instrument perfectly in tune.
The guitar has a fantastic, grand sound with an almost European character—think Lowden or McIlroy—but with more definition and a warmer, rounder treble, reminiscent of guitars by James Olson or Kevin Ryan. It's highly versatile and suitable for everything from fingerpicking to drop tunings to strumming, thanks in part to its deep body.
This 2011 PRS Tonare has clear playwear and dings on the top, along with playwear on the back and neck. A small crack on the waist on the bass side of the body has been repaired, and a decorative cap is missing from the D-string tuner knob. The original PRS piezo pickup has been replaced with an LR Baggs Anthem, and the guitar also features a non-original rosewood pickguard.
The guitar comes with a TFOA passport in an Ameritage case. Unfortunately, this case is not entirely undamaged, as the handle is broken.
Die Tonare Grand ist bis ins kleinste Detail sorgfältig und stilvoll gefertigt. Sie verfügt über eine Rosette aus Abalone/Cocobolo, Zierelemente aus Cocobolo/Ahorn/Abalone und natürlich die charakteristische „Vogel“-Einlage auf dem Ebenholzgriffbrett. Der robuste C-förmige Mahagonihals liegt sehr gut in der Hand, und die handgefertigten Keith-Robson-Mechaniken halten das Instrument perfekt gestimmt.
Die Gitarre hat einen fantastischen, grandiosen Klang mit fast europäischem Charakter – man denke an Lowden oder McIlroy –, aber mit mehr Definition und einem wärmeren, runderen Diskant, der an Gitarren von James Olson oder Kevin Ryan erinnert. Sie ist äußerst vielseitig und eignet sich dank ihres tiefen Korpus für alles von Fingerpicking über Drop-Tunings bis hin zum Strumming.
Diese PRS Tonare von 2011 weist deutliche Spielspuren und Dellen auf der Oberseite sowie Abnutzungsspuren an Boden und Hals auf. Ein kleiner Riss in der Mitte der Bassseite des Korpus wurde repariert, und am Stimmknopf der D-Saite fehlt eine Zierkappe. Der originale PRS-Piezo-Tonabnehmer wurde durch einen LR Baggs Anthem ersetzt, und die Gitarre verfügt außerdem über ein nicht originales Palisander-Schlagbrett.
Die Gitarre wird mit einem TFOA-Pass in einem Ameritage-Koffer geliefert. Leider ist dieser Koffer nicht vollständig unbeschädigt, da der Griff gebrochen ist.
