Atkin J19 Deluxe Custom Argentine Grey

The Nineteen is een idee van onze eigen Rudi Bults, uitgewerkt door Alister Atkin. De naam komt van het jaar waarin dit model werd bedacht, 2019. Het idee was een gitaar te bouwen die precies tussen de '43' en de LG2 invalt. Qua vorm lijkt hij echter op zijn grote broer, want de body is eigenlijk die van de Forty Three, maar dan 1 inch kleiner. Ondanks de kleinere body heeft hij die enorme kracht in het midden, en de prachtige balans van een grotere gitaar, en weet hij de rijke en krachtige klank van de Forty Three te evenaren. Zelfs het laag is indrukwekkend!

En deze J19 Deluxe is er niet zomaar eentje! Dit custom model heeft een paar prachtige designkenmerken die de gitaar tot een zeer exclusief instrument maken. Zo heeft Atkin gekozen voor een prachtige Argentine Grey finish van licht gecraqueleerd nitrocellulose. De kers op de taart zijn de gold sparkle purfling en rozet die de gitaar een zeer exclusief uiterlijk geven, wat een prachtig instrument is dit!

Deze prachtige kleine gitaar heeft een zorgvuldig geselecteerd gebakken Sitka sparren bovenblad. Gecombineerd met hand-scalloped bracing, levert het een strakke, volle klank op die perfect is voor zowel folky fingerpicking als blues-style flatpicking. De mahonie hals is voorzien van een Indisch palissander toets die soepel, goed uitgebalanceerd en speelklaar aanvoelt. Dit geeft een authentieke en uiterst comfortabele speelervaring en is een echt bewijs van het geweldige werk dat op dit moment van Atkin komt.

Atkin Guitars werd door Alister Atkin opgericht in Canterbury, Engeland in 1995. Wat als eenmansbedrijf begon met slechts een handje vol unieke gitaren ieder jaar, is gestaag uitgegroeid tot een van de meest succesvolle akoestische gitaarmerken in Engeland. Nu met zeven man en nog steeds in Canterbury bouwen ze ongeveer 350 gitaren per jaar, stuk voor stuk nog steeds uniek en volledig met de hand vervaardigd. De passie waarmee deze instrumenten gemaakt zijn straalt er vanaf, en het is moeilijk om niet verliefd te worden op zowel de klank als het uiterlijk!

The Nineteen is an idea of our own Rudi Bults, developed by Alister Atkin. The name comes from the year in which this model was conceived, 2019. The idea was to build a guitar that falls exactly between the '43' and the LG2. In terms of shape, however, it resembles its big brother, because the body is actually that of the Forty Three, but 1 inch smaller. Despite the smaller body, it has that enormous power in the middle, and the beautiful balance of a larger guitar, and it knows how to match the rich and powerful sound of the Forty Three. Even the bass is impressive!

And this J19 Deluxe is not just any one! This custom model has a few beautiful design features that make the guitar a very exclusive instrument. For example, Atkin has chosen a beautiful Argentine Grey finish of lightly crackled nitrocellulose. The icing on the cake is the gold sparkle purfling and rosette that give the guitar a very exclusive look, what a beautiful instrument this is!

This beautiful little guitar features a carefully selected baked Sitka spruce top. Combined with hand-scalloped bracing, it produces a tight, full tone that is perfect for both folky fingerpicking and blues-style flatpicking. The mahogany neck is topped with an Indian rosewood fingerboard that feels smooth, well-balanced and ready to play. This gives an authentic and extremely comfortable playing experience and is a real testament to the great work that is currently coming from Atkin.

Now with a staff of seven and still based in Canterbury, they build around 350 guitars a year, each one still unique and completely hand-crafted. Die Nineteen ist eine Idee unseres eigenen Rudi Bults, entwickelt von Alister Atkin. Der Name leitet sich vom Entstehungsjahr dieses Modells ab: 2019. Die Idee war, eine Gitarre zu bauen, die genau zwischen der 43 und der LG2 liegt. Formal ähnelt sie jedoch ihrem großen Bruder, denn der Korpus entspricht dem der Forty Three, ist aber 2,5 cm kleiner. Trotz des kleineren Korpus verfügt sie über die enorme Kraft in den Mitten und die wunderbare Balance einer größeren Gitarre und kann dem satten und kraftvollen Klang der Forty Three perfekt gerecht werden. Sogar der Bass ist beeindruckend!

Und diese J19 Deluxe ist nicht irgendeine! Dieses Custom-Modell besticht durch einige wunderschöne Designmerkmale, die die Gitarre zu einem exklusiven Instrument machen. So hat Atkin beispielsweise ein wunderschönes Argentine Grey-Finish aus leicht craquelierter Nitrozellulose gewählt. Das i-Tüpfelchen sind die goldglitzernde Einlage und die Rosette, die der Gitarre einen exklusiven Look verleihen – was für ein wunderschönes Instrument!

Diese wunderschöne kleine Gitarre besticht durch eine sorgfältig ausgewählte Decke aus gebrannter Sitka-Fichte. In Kombination mit der handgewellten Verstrebung erzeugt sie einen dichten, vollen Klang, der sich sowohl für Folk-Fingerpicking als auch für Blues-Flatpicking eignet. Der Mahagonihals ist mit einem Griffbrett aus indischem Palisander versehen, das sich glatt, ausgewogen und sofort spielbereit anfühlt. Dies sorgt für ein authentisches und äußerst komfortables Spielgefühl und ist ein echter Beweis für die hervorragende Arbeit von Atkin.
