Martin D12-28 1972

De Martin D12-28 maakte zijn debuut in 1970 als antwoord op de groeiende vraag naar hoogwaardige 12-snarige gitaren tijdens de folk-revival van de late jaren '60 en vroege jaren '70. Martin bouwde voort op hun bewezen dreadnought-ontwerp, maar paste de constructie aan voor de extra spanning van twaalf snaren. Het model werd snel omarmd door artiesten die op zoek waren naar de karakteristieke van een 12-snarige gitaar, maar dan met de kwaliteit en speelbaarheid waar Martin om bekendstond.​

De combinatie van het massieve sparren bovenblad met de palissander klankkast levert een klankpalet op dat simpelweg betoverend is. Je hoeft niet hard te werken om deze gitaar op gang te krijgen. Bij een zachtere aanslag beloont hij je al met zijn heldere, open klank. Als je wel wat meer power wilt produceren, dan levert de dreadnought-body een krachtige projectie en de diepe bastonen waar Martin beroemd om is.

Wat deze gitaar bijzonder maakt is de excellente staat waarin hij verkeert. Zijn uiterlijk verraadt zijn leeftijd zeker niet, want hij ziet er opvallend schoon uit! Een paar kleine deukjes op de headstock, lichte gebruikssporen op de klankkast en heel subtiele craquelé op het bovenblad zijn te ontdekken. Hij heeft daarnaast zijn originele Grover stemmechanieken.

Deze Martin D12-28 is niet alleen een fantastisch instrument voor de speler die op zoek is naar die unieke 12-snarige sound, maar ook een fantastische keuze voor de liefhebber van vintage Martins. Met zijn uitmuntende conditie en prachtige klank vertegenwoordigt hij het beste wat Martin heeft te bieden in deze categorie.

The Martin D12-28 made its debut in 1970 in response to the growing demand for high-quality 12-string guitars during the folk revival of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Martin built on their proven dreadnought design, but adapted the construction for the extra tension of twelve strings. The model was quickly embraced by artists looking for the character of a 12-string guitar, but with the quality and playability Martin was known for.


The combination of the solid spruce top with the rosewood back and sides produces a sound palette that is simply enchanting. You don't have to work hard to get this guitar going. With a softer touch, it rewards you with its clear, open sound. If you want to produce a little more power, the dreadnought body delivers the powerful projection and deep bass tones that Martin is famous for.

What makes this guitar special is its excellent condition. Its appearance certainly does not betray its age, as it looks remarkably clean! A few small dents on the headstock, slight signs of wear on the body and very subtle craquelure on the top can be detected. It also has its original Grover tuning machines.


This Martin D12-28 is not only a fantastic instrument for players looking for that unique 12-string sound, but also a great choice for lovers of vintage Martins. With its excellent condition and beautiful sound, it represents the best Martin has to offer in this category.

Die Martin D12-28 kam 1970 auf den Markt, um der wachsenden Nachfrage nach hochwertigen 12-saitigen Gitarren während des Folk-Revivals der späten 60er und frühen 70er Jahre gerecht zu werden. Martin baute auf seinem bewährten Dreadnought-Design auf, passte jedoch die Konstruktion an die zusätzliche Spannung von zwölf Saiten an. Das Modell wurde schnell von Künstlern angenommen, die den Charakter einer 12-saitigen Gitarre suchten, aber mit der Qualität und Spielbarkeit, für die Martin bekannt war.


Die Kombination aus massiver Fichtendecke und Palisander-Korpus sorgt für eine Klangpalette, die einfach bezaubernd ist. Man muss sich nicht besonders anstrengen, um diese Gitarre zum Klingen zu bringen. Schon bei einem sanften Anschlag belohnt sie einen mit ihrem klaren, offenen Klang. Wenn man etwas mehr Power erzeugen möchte, liefert der Dreadnought-Korpus eine kraftvolle Projektion und die tiefen Basstöne, für die Martin berühmt ist.


Was diese Gitarre so besonders macht, ist ihr ausgezeichneter Zustand. Ihr Aussehen verrät keineswegs ihr Alter, denn sie sieht auffallend sauber aus! Es sind ein paar kleine Dellen am Kopf, leichte Gebrauchsspuren am Korpus und ganz subtile Craquelé-Spuren auf der Decke zu entdecken. Außerdem verfügt sie über ihre originalen Grover-Stimmmechaniken.


Diese Martin D12-28 ist nicht nur ein fantastisches Instrument für Spieler, die den einzigartigen 12-saitigen Sound suchen, sondern auch eine hervorragende Wahl für Liebhaber von Vintage-Martins. Mit ihrem ausgezeichneten Zustand und ihrem wunderschönen Klang repräsentiert sie das Beste, was Martin in dieser Kategorie zu bieten hat.
