McPherson MG4.5XP Madagascar Rosewood Carpathian Red Spruce 2009

Deze McPherson MG4.5XP uit 2009 heeft een aantal indrukwekkende kenmerken zoals een massief Carpathian Red sparren bovenblad, gevlamd koa binding om zowel de body als de hals. Maar het echte onderscheidende onderdeel van dit instrument is het prachtige Madagascar palissander van de zij- en achterkant. Dit klankhout zorgt er niet alleen voor dat het instrument er geweldig uit ziet, maar is ook een perfecte match met het sparren bovenblad.

De gitaar heeft een indrukwekkend klankkarakter met een kristalhelder hoog, geweldige projectie en een diep laag. De 4.5 is de op één na diepste body vorm die McPherson biedt, en de 'XP' in zijn naam geeft aan dat hij een extra groot klankgat heeft. Ook is de gitaar klaar voor gebruik op het podium dankzij de K&K Pure Mini pickup.

Verder vinden we op het bovenblad, de klankkast en de achterzijde van de hals speelsporen en meerdere dings. De stemmechanieken zijn vervangen door goudkleurige Gotoh 510 stemmechanieken, en de gitaar is ook ooit voorzien geweest van een piëzo-pickup. De gitaar is over het geheel gezien echter zeer schoon, en wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer van Ameritage.

This 2009 McPherson MG4.5XP has some impressive features such as a solid Carpathian Red spruce top, flamed koa binding on both the body and neck. But the real distinguishing feature of this instrument is the beautiful Madagascar rosewood on the back and sides. This tonewood not only makes the instrument look great, but it also matches the spruce top perfectly.

The guitar has an impressive tonal character with crystal clear highs, great projection and a deep low end. The 4.5 is the second deepest body shape McPherson offers, and the 'XP' in its name indicates that it has an extra large soundhole. The guitar is also ready for use on stage thanks to the K&K Pure Mini pickup.

Furthermore, we find play marks and several dings on the top, the back and sides and the back of the neck. The original tuners have been replaced by gold-colored Gotoh 510 tuners, and the guitar was also once equipped with a piezo pickup. The guitar is very clean overall, and comes with a TFOA passport in an Ameritage hardshell case.

Dieses Tonholz verleiht dem Instrument nicht nur eine tolle Optik, sondern harmoniert auch perfekt mit der Fichtendecke.

Die Gitarre besticht durch einen beeindruckenden Klangcharakter mit kristallklaren Höhen, hervorragender Projektion und einem tiefen Bass. Die 4.5 ist die zweittiefste Korpusform von McPherson, und das „XP“ im Namen weist auf ein extra großes Schallloch hin. Dank des K&K Pure Mini Tonabnehmers ist die Gitarre zudem bühnentauglich.

Darüber hinaus finden wir Spielspuren und mehrere Dellen an der Decke, dem Resonanzkörper und der Halsrückseite. Die Mechaniken wurden durch goldfarbene Gotoh 510-Mechaniken ersetzt, und die Gitarre war einst auch mit einem Piezo-Tonabnehmer ausgestattet. Die Gitarre ist insgesamt sehr sauber und wird mit einem TFOA-Pass in einem Ameritage-Koffer geliefert.
