Forty years on from when George Lowden first built an electric guitar, 2018 sees the introduction of the all new GL-10 electric.
The GL-10 is built just in time for the NAMM show and has just been announced, with probably more details to follow! You can definetly tell it's a Lowden. It's incredibly stylish and it rocks those classic Lowden features, such as the Lowden headstock and the hand rubbed oil finish.
Other features include; Select Mastergrade tonewoods, Mahogany body with a Rosewood or Maple laminate, five piece neck to body construction and solid brass lined string holes. Yes, this Lowden has through-body-strings!
The gold hardware, including Lollar Imperial Gold pickups, give the guitar a very exclusive look. The Imperial Humbucker captures the airy top end, balanced mid-range, tight lows, and complex overtones of the classic original PAF pickups, often found in vintage 335 guitars! She has the a classic 3-way switch and 2 volume knobs and a tone knob.
For the top woods there are more options available, Lowden has yet to reveil which woods these will be! The neck is a 5 Piece mahogany with rosewood splices, a 12" radius, C-shape, 43mm nutwidth and a 630mm scale lenth; Slightly longer than Gibsons Les Paul's 628mm. She comes with a custom fit hard case, Gotoh GE103B-T bridge and Gotoh 510 w/ ebony buttons tuners!
As a true Lowden, she has a couple of custom options available; Maple neck, Mother of Pearl fretboard dot markers or a left handed edition. We hope to get our hands on one of these beautiful instruments, as true Lowden dealers (n1 Lowden dealer in Europe!). If these guitars are of the same quality and level as all of Lowden's other guitars, they will be truly something else.
