The first guitar George Lowden built for Pierre Bensusan in 1978 was 'the Old Lady' as Pierre now affectionately calls her.

De gitaar is gehavend en veel gebruikt, maar ook zeer geliefd, en Pierre speelt er nog steeds op. George zag een uitdaging in het ontwerpen van een nieuwe gitaar met veel van de kenmerken van de "old lady", maar dan comfortabeler, vandaar dat dit nieuwe model is uitgerust met een ebbenhouten bevel amrest.
Om dit nieuwe model meer diepte en helderheid te geven koos George voor Honduras palissander, een perfecte match met het Adirondack sparren bovenblad. Honduras palissander komt qua karakter, klank maar ook qua kleur in de buurt van Braziliaans palissander; het heeft dezelfde textuur, dichtheid, hardheid, en tonaal dezelfde helderheid, warmte en diepte.
De gitaar heeft verder een "F" oftewel Grand Auditorium, vorm, een 5-delige hals met 45mm/60mm Fingerstyle profiel, 25.6 inch mensuur, palissander brug en Gotoh 510 stemmechanieken met ebben knoppen.
De gitaar wordt met TFOA paspoort geleverd in een koffer van Ameritage.
The guitar is battered and much used, but also much loved, and Pierre still plays it. George saw a challenge in designing a new guitar with many of the features of the "old lady", but more comfortable, which is why this new model is equipped with an ebony bevel amrest.
To give this new model more depth and clarity, George chose Honduras rosewood, a perfect match with the Adirondack spruce top. Honduras rosewood comes close to Brazilian rosewood in character, sound and also in color; it has the same texture, density, hardness, and tonally the same clarity, warmth and depth.
The guitar also has an "F" or Grand Auditorium shape, a 5-piece neck with 45mm/60mm Fingerstyle profile, 25.6 inch scale, rosewood bridge and Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons.
The guitar comes with a TFOA passport in an Ameritage hardshell case.
Die Gitarre ist ramponiert und viel benutzt, aber auch sehr beliebt, und Pierre spielt sie immer noch. George sah eine Herausforderung darin, eine neue Gitarre mit vielen Merkmalen der „alten Dame“ zu entwerfen, die aber bequemer ist, weshalb dieses neue Modell mit einer abgeschrägten Ebenholz-Armauflage ausgestattet ist.
Um diesem neuen Modell mehr Tiefe und Klarheit zu verleihen, wählte George Honduras-Palisander, der perfekt zur Adirondack-Fichtendecke passt. Honduras-Palisander kommt dem brasilianischen Palisander in Charakter, Klang und auch Farbe sehr nahe; es hat dieselbe Textur, Dichte, Härte und klanglich dieselbe Klarheit, Wärme und Tiefe.
Die Gitarre hat außerdem eine „F“- oder Grand Auditorium-Form, einen 5-teiligen Hals mit 45 mm/60 mm Fingerstyle-Profil, 25,6-Zoll-Mensur, Palisandersteg und Gotoh 510-Stimmgeräte mit Ebenholzknöpfen.
Die Gitarre wird mit einem TFOA-Pass in einem Ameritage-Hartschalenkoffer geliefert.
