De Music Man JP6 BFR is niet zomaar een John Petrucci signature, de BFR-uitvoering is een stap verder, uitgebracht in gelimiteerde oplage door de Ball Family Reserve met materialen en afwerkingen die je bij de standaard JP-serie niet tegenkomt. Dit exemplaar in Ruby Quilt is daarvan een mooi bewijs.
John Petrucci ontwierp de JP-serie samen met Music Man met één doel: een instrument bouwen dat in alles meebeweegt met de eisen van een veeleisende gitarist. Dat zie je terug in elk detail van deze gitaar, van de comfortabele halsgeometrie tot de doordachte elektronica-indeling. De BFR-versies worden in nog kleinere aantallen gebouwd dan de reguliere signature modellen en zijn voorzien van selectere houtsoorten en exclusievere afwerkingen, in dit geval een opvallende quilted Ruby Burst top!
Qua geluid biedt deze JP6 een breed palet dankzij de combinatie van twee DiMarzio pickups die Petrucci zelf heeft helpen ontwikkelen: de LiquiFire aan de hals voor vloeiende, warme leadtonen, en de Crunch Lab aan de brug voor strakke, krachtige ritmetonen met genoeg bite. Daar bovenop beschikt de gitaar over een piezo-brug, waarmee je tussen magnetische en akoestische simulatie kunt schakelen, of beide tegelijk kunt mengen.
Deze Music Man uit 2014 is gesigneerd door John Petrucci hemzelf! De gitaar heeft lichte speelsporen en wat krasjes op zijn body en hals, en heeft een lakchip op de bovenzijde van de headstock, samen met wat kleinere plekjes in de lak. De gitaar verkeert in excellente conditie en wordt geleverd in een koffer met TFOA-paspoort.

John Petrucci designed the JP series together with Music Man with one clear goal: to build an instrument that fully responds to the demands of a demanding guitarist. This is reflected in every detail of the guitar, from the comfortable neck geometry to the thoughtfully designed electronics layout. BFR versions are produced in even smaller quantities than the regular signature models and feature more select tonewoods and exclusive finishes: in this case, a striking quilted Ruby Burst top!
In terms of sound, this JP6 offers a wide tonal palette thanks to the combination of two DiMarzio pickups that Petrucci himself helped develop: the LiquiFire in the neck position for smooth, warm lead tones, and the Crunch Lab in the bridge for tight, powerful rhythm tones with plenty of bite. On top of that, the guitar features a piezo bridge, allowing you to switch between magnetic and acoustic simulation, or blend both at the same time.
This 2014 Music Man is signed by John Petrucci himself! The guitar has light playwear and some scratches on the body and neck, and has a lacquer chip on the top of the headstock, along with some smaller blemishes. The guitar is in excellent condition and comes in a hardshell case with a TFOA passport.

Sie wurde in limitierter Auflage von der Ball Family Reserve herausgebracht und verfügt über Materialien und Finishes, die man bei der regulären JP-Serie nicht findet. Dieses Exemplar in Ruby Quilt ist ein schönes Beispiel dafür.
John Petrucci entwickelte die JP-Serie gemeinsam mit Music Man mit einem klaren Ziel: ein Instrument zu bauen, das sich in jeder Hinsicht an die Anforderungen eines anspruchsvollen Gitarristen anpasst. Das zeigt sich in jedem Detail dieser Gitarre, von der komfortablen Halsgeometrie bis zur durchdachten Elektronik-Anordnung. Die BFR-Versionen werden in noch geringeren Stückzahlen gefertigt als die regulären Signature-Modelle und sind mit ausgewählteren Hölzern sowie exklusiveren Finishes ausgestattet, in diesem Fall mit einer auffälligen Quilted-Ruby-Burst-Decke.
Klanglich bietet diese JP6 eine breite Palette dank der Kombination zweier DiMarzio-Pickups, die Petrucci selbst mitentwickelt hat: der LiquiFire am Hals für fließende, warme Lead-Sounds und der Crunch Lab an der Brücke für straffe, kraftvolle Rhythmus-Sounds mit ausreichend Biss. Zusätzlich verfügt die Gitarre über eine Piezo-Brücke, mit der man zwischen magnetischem und akustischem Klang wechseln oder beide gleichzeitig mischen kann.
Diese Music Man aus dem Jahr 2014 ist von John Petrucci persönlich signiert! Die Gitarre weist leichte Gebrauchsspuren und einige Kratzer an Korpus und Hals auf, außerdem befindet sich ein kleiner Lackabplatzer an der Kopfplatte sowie einige kleinere Schönheitsfehler. Die Gitarre ist in exzellentem Zustand und wird in einem Hartschalenkoffer mit TFOA-Pass geliefert.
