Ted Astrand AO 2014

Built by hand in Stockholm, Sweden, this Ted Åstrand AO from 2014 is a rare and refined acoustic guitar from one of Scandinavia’s most respected luthiers.

Featuring a 13 fret neck joint and a compact O body, this instrument offers a distinctive feel and response that immediately sets it apart from more conventional designs.

The top is crafted from Italian spruce sourced from the Stradivari Valley, known for its quick response, clarity and rich overtone content. Back and sides are made from Sacha Rosewood Higuerilla, a visually striking and tonally impressive tonewood sourced sustainably through Terra Tonewoods. Tonally, Sacha Rosewood delivers a deep, rich low end with a clear and articulate top, often compared to Madagascar Rosewood, while remaining non CITES restricted. The non scalloped X bracing gives the guitar a focused, controlled response with excellent balance across the strings.

The mahogany neck has a comfortable C profile and a 24.9" scale length, paired with an ebony fingerboard for a smooth and precise playing experience. High quality details such as Waverly open gear tuners, multi line purfling and rosette underline the level of craftsmanship throughout. This guitar is number 16, built in 2014 and originally acquired directly from Ted Åstrand for a private collection. It has never been used on stage and remains in excellent condition. The guitar comes in a Hiscox flight case with TFOA passport.
