Taylor 424ce Walnut Special Edition 2023

The Taylor 424ce Walnut Special Edition is a special model: a body made entirely of walnut—that is not something you see often! And it sounds truly different from a guitar with a spruce top.

Walnut is an interesting choice as a tonewood. In terms of character, the material sits somewhere between mahogany and rosewood, and its sound is reminiscent of Koa: warmer than rosewood, but with more clarity and attack than mahogany. The solid walnut top and matching body give the guitar a cohesive, full tone with a beautiful midrange presence that works excellently for both fingerstyle and strumming. Slightly more dampened and with a somewhat shorter sustain than a spruce top, but very beautiful!

The Grand Auditorium body with Taylor's V-Class bracing delivers a balanced, open sound with a remarkable amount of detail and sustain. A guitar that you immediately recognize as something special, and a very popular model due to its enormous versatility. The ebony fingerboard and bridge made of West African Crelicam ebony add some extra sharpness and definition to the tone attack. Moreover, the built-in Expression System 2 pickup ensures that this guitar sounds just as good on stage as it does in the living room.
