Ramirez 1A Spruce Rosewood 1995

Regular price € 4.799

(incl. 0 % VAT)

The Ramírez 1A is built according to the principles of the legendary and classic model designed by José Ramírez III in the 1960s. This period marked the golden age for Ramírez, during which his beautiful creations influenced guitar designs and construction methods worldwide.

It was also during this period that Ramírez discovered cedar as a phenomenal tonewood for his guitars. Its excellent bass response and high volume made this wood a huge success among classical guitarists. This led to cedar being used by almost all builders, resulting in the wood becoming inseparably associated with Spanish guitar making.

The 1A combines age-old construction methods with modern technology, giving the guitar a deep, powerful, and rich sound. This guitar features a rosewood body, a cedar top, a cedar neck with an ebony fingerboard, and a rosewood bridge. The Ramirez scale length of 664 mm is a hallmark of the iconic José Ramírez III 1A, designed to achieve greater sound projection and the power of a "concert grand."

This Ramirez 1A was built in the first half of 1995. The label displays the address Concepción Jerónima nº 2, the original Ramirez workshop that was exchanged for a new location in the summer of 1995. The guitar shows light wear on the top, along with light wear on the back and side of the body and a lacquer chip in the waist on the treble side.
Otherwise, the guitar is exceptionally clean and is a beautifully preserved piece of Spanish guitar history!
