PRS Custom 24 40th Anniversary Satin Charcoal

The 40th Anniversary Custom 24 Satin Limited Edition celebrates forty years of PRS Guitars with a number of new and distinctive features on the model that started it all. This special edition is a limited edition and features a mango wood top, ebony fingerboard, satin nitrocellulose lacquer, and smoked black hardware for a fresh take on a true classic.

The most striking detail is the choice of a beautifully figured mango top instead of the traditional maple. Mango shares many of the tonal qualities of maple but gives the guitar an almost quilted appearance. The satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish enhances the instrument's natural look and provides a pleasant feel and a resonant tone. The ebony fingerboard and headstock overlay feature the classic PRS "Old School" bird inlay with outline, and the headstock features the "Pre-Factory" eagle, a tribute to early PRS models.

Despite its updated appearance, this limited edition retains the beloved specifications of the Custom 24: a mahogany body and neck, a 25-inch scale length, 24 frets, a 10-inch fingerboard radius, and the Pattern Thin neck profile. Also included are the PRS Gen III patented tremolo and Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons. The guitar is equipped with DMO Treble and Bass pickups, developed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products Engineering team. These pickups—DMO stands for Dynamic, Musical, Open—offer an open and expressive tone with a vocal character. Combined with the 5-way switch, this provides a wide palette of usable sounds within the familiar Custom 24 size.

This limited edition is part of PRS's 40th anniversary celebrations. The guitar comes with a TFOA passport and a hardshell case.
