Gibson ES330 Sixties Cherry

The Gibson ES330 is known for its distinctive tone, comfortable playability, and classic appearance. This has made it a favorite for years among guitarists seeking a versatile electric guitar in the traditional ES style. A close relative of the Epiphone Casino, the ES330 features a similarly lightweight, fully hollow thinline body made of three-ply maple and poplar. Thanks to this construction, the trapeze tailpiece, and the neck set deep into the body, the guitar sounds exceptionally resonant and warm, while the bridge is optimally positioned.

The mahogany neck has a comfortable Rounded C profile and features a rosewood fingerboard with small block inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets. The 12-inch radius feels great, both during bright chording in the lower registers and during expressive bends higher up the neck. The trapeze tailpiece contributes to both the guitar's appearance and character, while the fully adjustable ABR-1 bridge ensures precise intonation. Vintage Deluxe tuners with white buttons and a Graph Tech nut help the guitar stay in tune.

The ES330 is equipped with two Dogear P90 pickups, hand-wired with 500k potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors. This produces bright, open clean tones, but also raw and characterful tones when driven through the amplifier. As with any fully hollow-core guitar, feedback can occur at extremely high volumes or high gain, but with a little control and damping with your hands, this is easily manageable. In return, you get a unique combination of sustain, dynamics, and musical resonance that many other guitars lack. For blues, Americana, sixties pop, country, jazz, and rock, the ES-330 is an excellent choice.
