The Gibson Custom J45 Standard with a Red Spruce top takes Gibson's iconic workhorse to the next level.

This Custom Shop version combines the beloved J45 DNA with premium Adirondack spruce and a beautiful Tri-Burst finish that perfectly accentuates the natural wood grain. The scalloped X-bracing and traditional slope-shoulder body shape deliver that classic Gibson warmth and projection that generations of musicians have relied on.

Since 1942, the J45 has been known as Gibson's tireless workhorse, beloved by singer-songwriters and professionals worldwide. The Custom Shop version honors this tradition by returning to the original specifications from the golden age, with the premium Adirondack spruce that was standard at the time. This wood, also known as Red Spruce, was scarce for years but is now available again for this special Custom Shop version.

The Adirondack spruce top produces a livelier and more open tone compared to standard Sitka spruce, with more dynamics and a richer overtone structure. The scalloped X-bracing allows the top to resonate freely, resulting in that signature J45 warmth with added depth and complexity. The SlimTaper neck profile offers comfortable playability for both chordal playing and fingerstyle, while the LR Baggs VTC pickup provides natural amplification when needed.
