For flamenco guitarists, the name Gerundino Fernández immediately evokes images of some of the most coveted instruments of the twentieth century. From his workshop in Almería, he built guitars with a character entirely his own, beloved for their expressiveness, directness, and almost vocal sound.

This 1974 example dates from the period considered by many connoisseurs to be the pinnacle of his career. With a cedar top and a body of carefully selected cypress, this Flamenco Blanca possesses all the qualities that have made the name Gerundino so legendary.

The guitar combines the dry, percussive response of a traditional flamenco guitar with a striking richness of color and nuance. The basses sound powerful and raw, while the treble is clear, singing, and exceptionally projecting. What distinguishes this Gerundino above all is the unique balance between precision and emotion; every note has definition, yet at the same time a depth and warmth that are immediately recognizable. The result is an instrument with a powerful personality and an irresistible flamenco voice that impresses from the very first strum.

In addition to the usual signs of wear, this guitar has a repaired crack on the top, on the bass side of the soundhole. Additionally, a small crack in the fretboard has been glued, and the guitar has been refretted. This Gerundino is therefore completely ready for many years of playing enjoyment!
