The Fender Jazz Bass set the standard for bass guitars, and this 1974 example lets you feel and hear why!As one of the two prominent basses in Fender's catalog, the Jazz Bass is a familiar sight in the music world. The Jazz Bass was introduced by Fender in 1960 as the Deluxe Bass, and this was reflected in features borrowed from the Jazzmaster. The bass was eventually renamed Jazz Bass because Fender believed the narrow neck would appeal primarily to jazz musicians. This Jazz Bass features a gloss lacquer finished white pickguard. Furthermore, we see a maple neck fitted with a maple fingerboard featuring mother-of-pearl block inlays and white binding. This guitar has clearly been on the road and thus has collected some playwear. It even has the 'classic' sigaret burns in the headstock. Those miles on the clock make it so that the sound of this bass is clear and resonant. All the electronics are original and well maintained. The bass is equipped with two single-coil pickups, the bridge pickup of which has been rewound. The single-coil pickups sound full and fat, and can be operated with separate volume controls and a master tone knob. This 1974 Jazz Bass is therefore a true legend who's earned it's reputation.
