Collings D3A Bois de Rose Adirondack 25th TFOA

In 2026, The Fellowship of Acoustics will be celebrating its 25th anniversary, and for this celebratory occasion, we commissioned Collings to create this anniversary model of the D3A. And Collings certainly didn't disappoint, as it's a fantastic guitar!

Collings guitars are distinguished by exceptional craftsmanship and the use of the finest materials. The powerful Dreadnought is one of their most beloved models, and for good reason!

The heart of this guitar is a solid Bois de Rose back and sides, a rosewood species that grows only on the island of Madagascar. The name is the literal French translation of rosewood, and it is therefore a true member of the Dalbergia family. Bois de Rose is exceptionally scarce and therefore rarely used for guitars, but with its deep reddish-brown color and dark stripes, it is a wood that is immediately reminiscent of the renowned Brazilian rosewood. The tone of this wood is also exceptional, giving the guitar a deep, articulate sound with complex overtones and fabulous sustain.

This D3A also features a baked Adirondack spruce top. Finishes include ivoroid binding, an abalone rosette, and a beautifully detailed back strip. The fingerboard and bridge are also Bois de Rose, as is the headstock overlay. The headstock also features a beautiful Rhododendron inlay, the shrub that encompasses the history and present of our beautiful shop in many ways. The perfect finish of these details is immediately noticeable, and this is why every Collings is greeted with enthusiasm at The Fellowship of Acoustics!

As befits a Collings, the guitar plays fantastically. The mahogany neck, with its modified V-profile and compound radius, offers unparalleled comfort, allowing for effortless chording and fingerstyle playing. It makes this Collings a wonderful guitar that you won't want to put down!
