The 000 is part of Atkin's Essential Series. The guitars in this series all feature a Baked Sitka spruce top, a mahogany soundboard and an ebony fingerboard and bridge.
Atkin Guitars was founded in 1995 in Canterbury, England. Alister Atkin started as a one-man company, and as such built a few handmade guitars a year. Gradually, due to the great success of the guitars, the company expanded to seven employees, but the guitars have always remained handmade. The Atkin Essential 000 is a guitar that perfectly embodies Atkin's philosophy; a lightly built guitar where the tone is central.
The 000 is part of Atkin's Essential Series. The guitars in this series all feature a Baked Sitka spruce top, a mahogany soundbox and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. The guitars have the essences a guitar needs, and therefore have 100% of the Atkin tone! Thanks to the baked top with special bracing, this compact guitar nevertheless boasts a rich sound with plenty of bass.
The lightweight mahogany neck features a comfortable Soft V profile and joins the body at the 14th fret, paired with an ebony fingerboard. This combination offers a smooth, effortless playing experience, especially well-suited for fingerstyle thanks to the wider nut.
Its Heavy Aging gives the guitar an instantly worn-in look, feel, and sound—perfect for players who love the vibe of a vintage instrument right out of the case.
The guitar comes with certificate of authenticity in a hardshell case by TKL.
