Busato Roundhole Gypsy 1940

Inclusief nieuwere koffer. Consignatie.

Unique and very rare roundhole Busato from the 1940s. Busato's are notoriously hard to date exactly because, like in this case, there are no serial numbers, logo's and/or stamps to give an indication. This is the very first round hole Busato we've encountered, and as far as we can tell it is the only round hole Gypsy Jazz Busato currently on the internet. Most round hole Busato's, and there are not a lot of those, are flattop models more in line with the Martins and Gibsons of that era although often using a Gypsy Jazz tailpiece and bridge. This guitar was made using laminated maple for the back and sides and a cedar top bound with multiple layers of different colored wood. The black, typical Busato shaped pickguard has six -again typical Busato- "diamond" inlays. The neck is again typically Busato 3-piece consisting out of two outer layer of walnut and an ebony centerstrip and was fitted with an ebony fretboard with brass frets. The two outer pieces of the compensated ebony bridge have abalone inlays and the brass tailpiece is newer. Condition is "Very Good" with the expected signs of use, the top has three repaired cracks, there are some touch-ups of the finish and the tuners (although old/vintage) are non-original. Includes newer hardshell case. Consignment.
